End of an era

The last of Sir Chay Blyth's 18-strong Challenge Business fleet has been sold. Designed by Rob Humphreys, the 72 ft Spencer Dock , was 'bullet proof' and used to carry paying passengers, in a race around the world the wrong way.

In 1971 Sir Chay became the first person to sail non-stop around the world against the winds and currents. In 2007 Dee Caffari became the first woman to make the same voyage in another of the fleet.

Challenge Business went into administration in September 2007 after Sir Chay failed to find a sponsor for the 2008-09 Global Challenge Race.
