Gipsy Moth IV has been re-launched following her repairs at Grant Dalton's Emirates Team New Zealand shed in Auckland. Team New Zealand's timely intervention saved the UK Sailing Academy £80,000 off the £300,000 repair costs.
The Auckland shiprights worked day and night to complete the work re-skinning her starboard side and repairing broken frames but charged no overtime.
She will now undergo sailing trials to iron out any wrinkles before the 53 ft ketch continues on her second round-the-world voyage.
GMIV had sustained the damage after a major navigational error put her on a reef at Rangiroa in the Pacific.
