Gipsy Moth IV sailed up Southampton Water under full canvas to start the show in style.
Chichester's famous yacht looked a picture as she tacked to and fro in front of the crowds gathered on the pontoons. Overhead a Gipsy Moth bi-plane - the same one that welcomed Sir Francis home after his circumnavigation - waggled its wings.
Gipsy Moth will be on display and open to the public until Thursday 22nd September when she'll slip her lines and head for Plymouth and the start of her circumnavigation.
The Southampton Boat Show runs until 25 September at Mayflower Park and is open from 1000 to 1900.
