Seagull races

Tom Cunliffe’s ‘obituary’ on the Seagull outboard engine (August issue) is a tad premature.

The British Seagull is alive and well and is big in New Zealand where they have ‘The Great Annual British Seagull race’ and in Bermuda where they have a ‘Round the Island Seagull race’.

This iconic engine is far from finished and although a touch old fashioned will hopefully provide impeccable service to its devotees for years to come.
