? The ARC 2006 was celebrating it’s 21st Edition
? 225 yachts took part
? 27 Nations were represented in the fleet of yachts, and many more nationalities made up the large body of crew taking part (over 1100 people)
? The largest number of entries was from the United Kingdom at 108 yachts
(46.5% of the fleet), a little less than last year
? Germany was the next largest group with 30 yachts (13% of the fleet)
? Other countries well represented were Norway with 17 yachts (7%), Italy 13 yachts (6%), France 12 yachts (4%) and USA 7 yachts (3%)

? Number of children under 16 = 26

? Average length overall is 14.68m (47ft), the same as last year.
? Boats below 12m (40ft) make up 17% (39 boats) of the fleet, an increase on recent years.
? There are 112 yachts between 12 to 15m, (40-48ft), 48% of the overall fleet, the same as last year.
? 17% of the fleet are over 17m (56ft) LOA, compared to 29% in ARC2005
? Number of new builds this year: 21 (compared to 30 in ’05, and 34 in ’04)
