Bank robbery in yachting village

A man has been charged after an armed robbery at a bank in Hamble.

A 55-year old Hamble resident was today due to appear before Southampton Magistrates Court, accused of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

A man burst into NatWest in Hamble Square at around 11.45am on Monday.
He demanded cash, threatening an employee with a knife, and fled with an unknown amount of money. He was later arrested near Port Hamble marina, having been identified by a spotter plane.
